Kennard "Larry" Lawrence Kyte's Obituary
Kennard Lawrence “Larry” Kyte was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the age of 72. He was born July 25, 1938 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Kennard Kyte and Marjorie Clark Kyte and was a resident of Covington for the last 70 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Patricia Healy Kyte and beloved daughters Mary Kyte Duet (Ruffin) and Anne Kyte Thiel (Kiley). He is also survived by grandsons James “Jay” Duet and Thomas L. Duet, his loving niece Kristin Muse Vogt, as well as many beloved family and friends.
Larry was a graduate of St. Paul’s School in Covington and Southeastern Louisiana University. He pursued a long career in pharmaceutical sales and served proudly in the United States Coast Guard. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church having been a member of the third and fourth degree Knights of Columbus for many years. He served as a former president of St. Peter School Board and St. Peter Parent’s Club. Larry entered St. Paul School at the age of 9 years, and it was there that he acquired many of his lifelong friends. He served on the SPS Alumni Board and was a former member of its Athletic Association. In later years, he became a member of the “Gray Wolves” participating in community service. He was also an avid supporter of St. Paul’s Athletics.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2010 from St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 East 19th Ave., Covington, La 70433.
Visitation at the church will be Monday at 10:30 AM.
Interment will immediately follow Mass at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to St. Paul’s School, P.O. Box 928 Covington, La 70434.
