Kay Robin Pouey's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kay Robin Pouey, age 60, of Covington, Louisiana, on June 25th, 2026. She was born on August 10th, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Steven J. Pouey; daughters, Lauren Gonzalez Nelson (Trey), Katherine Gonzalez Arnold (Chip), Shelby Pouey and Emily Pouey, grandsons, Nathaniel, Riley and Oliver Nelson. She is also survived by her mother, Sylvia Freire Robin and sisters, Wendy Robin Sembera (Roy) and Bonnie Robin Abide (Christopher Sr.) and many extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Peter J. Robin and sister, Lisa Robin Beloso (Eric) and cousin, Karley Allison Draper.
Kay was a remarkably hardworking woman whose determination and resilience inspired everyone who knew her. For six years, she courageously battled cancer with grace, strength, and an unbreakable spirit. Throughout her journey, she faced every challenge with courage and dignity, becoming a powerful example of perseverance and faith for her family and friends. Prior to her diagnosis, Kay worked for Merril Lynch Wealth Management in Mandeville, Louisiana for 20 years. For several years, she was apart of the Krewe of Lourdes in Chalmette, Louisiana. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her four daughters and three beloved grandsons. She treasured every moment with them, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth that they will carry with them forever.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Kay Pouey may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, Louisiana. Visitation for family will begin at 9:30 AM followed by visitation for the public beginning at 10:00 AM. The Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, Louisiana.
