Kathy G. Massey's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Kathleen G. Massey
November 6, 1948 – April 29, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Kathleen “Kathy” G. Massey, on April 29, 2026. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 6, 1948, to Wesley P. and Earline R. Massey.
Kathy was a devoted mother and a cherished sister.
She is survived by her sisters, Dianne Parks (Jay) and Lynn Larter (Lou) of Mandeville, Louisiana; her children, Brian Hebert (Mike) of Portland, Oregon, and Shannon Hebert (Jen) of Alexandria, Virginia; her grandchildren, Her greatest joys—Wesley Lesko-Hebert, Leo Lesko-Hebert, Herschel Sutton-Hebert, and Millie Sutton-Hebert; and her nieces, Katharine Bentz (John), Rebecca Sibille (Bryan), and Lauren Heiman (Jonathan), along with their children.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved nephew, Daniel Larter.
After graduating high school, Kathy began a dedicated, lifelong career with Bellsouth/AT&T. Outside of her professional life, she loved traveling, water skiing, boating, gardening—and was never one to turn down an opportunity to dance!
While she wore many hats, nothing compared to her love for being a grandmother. In 2012, Kathy retired and moved to Maryland to be closer to her two grandchildren at the time, Wesley and Leo. The years that followed were filled with cherished memories, laughter, and the joy of watching her family grow.
Kathy was a steadfast pillar for her children, Brian and Shannon, and her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
