Kate, I am deeply saddened that you are no longer here. You were such an inspirational teacher. I know more about Gothic and Romanesque architecture than I ever thought I would, and I took the plunge and lived among the shadows of those cathedrals because I came to love them as you did. Thank you for being my teacher and mentor. I will miss your smile, your thriller novels, and your brilliance. I will miss learning from you. Restez en paix.

We met Kathy back in 1985 through John, when they were professors at UNO. Since then, we shared many wonderful moments - special times that we'll forever remember.
Like John, Kathy was the rare intellectual with a blue-collar sense of humor. We'll miss her always entertaining and often humorous accounts of her many travels abroad.
Godspeed, Kathy, as you make your way to Heaven, where we're sure John will be the first to greet you.
