Kathryn Goodwin Stricklin's Obituary
Kathryn Goodwin Stricklin went to meet her Savior on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the age of 74. “Kathy” was born on September 26, 1946 in Thibodaux, LA and lived there until she married. For the past 45 years, she has called Abita Springs home.
Kathy is survived by her long-time companion, Billy Fisher; her children, Kimberley Johnston Hogsett (Jeff) of Houston, Karen Johnston Mooney (Mike) of Covington and Joshua Thomas Stricklin (Megan) of Abita Springs; her Grandchildren, Graham Stephen Hogsett and Brooke Lauren Hogsett of Houston, Bayleigh Grace Stricklin, Grayson Robert Stricklin and Madeline Kate Stricklin of Abita Springs, along with many others who lovingly called her both Mom and Grammy; her brother James Ernest Goodwin (MaryAnn) of Houma and June Goodwin Wright (Ed) of Fruita, CO.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Ernest “Curly” Eugene Goodwin, her mother, Margaret Simoneaud Goodwin, her grandmother, Florence Simoneaud, and her two brothers, John Ernest Goodwin and Ernest Eugene Goodwin, Jr., all of Thibodaux, LA.
A small family service was held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. The family will hold a larger memorial service sometime in the near future, allowing for hurricane clean up and COVID precautions. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 22139 Level Street, Abita Springs, LA 70420, and designate for “hurricane Ida relief.”
