Kathryn Nelson Hanners' Obituary
Kathryn Nelson Hanners passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 in Covington, LA. She was born on July 12, 1915 in Soper, OK to the late Wiley Nelson and Eugenia Pickett Nelson.
Kathryn was married to her beloved husband, the late Francis Marrion “Slim” Hanners for 59 years and together they had two children, June Kennedy Miestchovich of Metairie, LA and Abita Springs, LA and the late Joneen Hanners Holloway of Cotton Valley, LA. Kathryn was the grandmother of David Holloway (Louise), Ocieah Holloway Rasbury (the late Tommy), and Clarence Holloway. She leaves behind 4 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was the middle sister of 10 children raised in Wellington, TX. She will be dearly missed by her devoted niece Ringa Feemster and her children.
Kathryn was a proud, life member of The Eastern Star of Louisiana Grand Chapter - 141 William D White Chapter. She was a strong supporter of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport. Kathryn was a woman of faith and loved the Lord.
The family will have a graveside service at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill, LA on Friday, November 28, 2014.
