What a joy to have known Kathy! Even with all the trials in her life, Kathy could always make one laugh and be the life of the party. May God grant Kathy eternal rest in the peace of Christ! Kathy was a very dedicated spouse, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and employee. I remember Kathy's big loving heart and compassionate concern for everyone in her life, even those who treated her poorly. I was always deeply impressed by her Christian virtues and work ethic in her personal sacrifice while caring for her ailing husband Tony before his death, comforting and nurturing her active son Jason in some very tough times, and working her butt off for an employer, in her last job, who failed to appreciate the great time and effort she made on their behalf. Kathy was, and remains, an inspiration to many people! I pray that Jason and all of the Smith and Guzzardo families find comfort knowing for Kathy life has changed, not ended, as she enters the everlasting dwelling place in heaven.

I can only remember Kathy, my cousin, as a little girl because I joined the Air Force in 1959 and only seldom was able visit New Orleans. Before that, when Uncle Tommy and Aunt Mildred held family get-togethers or having other occasions to visit, I can remember her as a little girl running around the house and yard trying to play with her older childhood relatives. She came from a nice family and I’m sorry to learn of her death. Her family and friends have our sincere condolences.

had the great privilege of attending Saint Joseph High, class of 1970, with your dear mother. Kathy, known as "Smitty" to some of us, was such a great lady, had a ready smile, happy giggle, and was always there ready to listen to what you had to say. And such a great friend. Jason I want you to know your mother was loved by everyone. She was the kindest person and would make you laugh with her beautiful personality. She is considered a sister in Christ to many of us.
