Kathleen Marie Donahue's Obituary
Kathleen Marie Donahue passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Covington, LA. She was born on February 28, 1943 in New Orleans, LA to the late John Leo, Sr. and Rita de Lesseps Donahue. She left the world a better place for her grace and strength.
She graduated from Dominican High School in 1961 and received a degree in Physical Education from UNO.
Kathy was the mother of Valerie Marie Villars, Victoria (Vicky) Villars Lucas (Jeff) and Aimee' Elisabeth Milavic (Ivo) and her "adopted" daughter Melissa Bourcq. She was the grandmother of five grandchildren, Alexandra (Ally) Bruner, Savannah Stanley, Tanner Bruner, Saylor Marie Lucas and the late Dustin Talley. Kathy was the sister of Senator Jack Donahue (Maura), Terry Donahue (Patty), and Patricia Donahue Tweedy (Marvin). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Her final days were made peaceful by the loving service and dedication of Juanita Jones.
Kathleen was a teacher at Our Lady of the Lake in the 70's. She volunteered her time to Safe Harbor and Save Our Troops. She loved horses, the feeling of an open book in her hands and was a true artist in every sense of the word.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd, St Benedict, LA 70457 at 2:00 PM. A Wake will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Interment will be held privately following Mass. The family requests that donations made in the name of Kathleen Marie Donahue be made to The Women’s Cancer Research Fund, www.womenscancerresearchfund.org/make-a-donation/.
