Karen “Nanny” Parker was a fun loving slots player. She successfully quit smoking well over a decade ago but still believed the smoking section paid better. She was usually right. Nanny had a habit of being right. She could peer right into you and seemingly know exactly what made you tick. Nanny loved deeply and loyally. Nanny would defend the ones she loved fiercely but tell you where you went wrong in private. She struggled with anxiety but overcame it many times when needed from owning her own business or dealing with a crisis. Nanny is a sweet, sweet spirit and knew the world could be hard. She didn’t share her pain but helped others feel better about themselves. Nanny had a non-judgmental ear and an infectious “Hee-Hee” laugh. Brilliant in her depth, simple in her approach, Karen Lynn Sarles Parker was our sister, wife, mom, aunt and our Nanny. She is missed. We will miss her for the rest of our lives until that day when we meet again. Nanny will be beaming. She will excitedly say, “Hee Hee, we didn’t need to be worried at all!”.
