Karen Jones' Obituary
Karen S. Jones passed away on July 2, 2006, at the age of 63 at her home at the Windsor Senior Living Community in Mandeville. She was born in Richview, IL and lived many years in Metairie and more recently in Mandeville.
She was the daughter of LeRoy and Mary (Schmidt) Jones who preceded her in death. Surviving is her stepmother, Dorothy Jones, of Richview, IL; one brother, Clifford Jones and wife Carol of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Lorraine Peterson and husband Jim of Mandeville, and Wanda Couch and husband Dan of Plymouth, IN; two stepbrothers, Doug Huge and wife Rene of Richview, IL, and Gary Huge and wife Debbie of Centralia, IL; one stepsister, Paulette Wolfe and husband Gary of Centralia, IL; and nieces and nephews.
A long-time executive secretary at K&B Drugs Corporate Headquarters in New Orleans, Karen was happiest dipping K&B ice cream for kids as a volunteer at the numerous charity functions supported by her company. Her love of animals was shown by her hours of volunteer work with the Jefferson SPCA. She continued to volunteer her services whenever and wherever she could while residing at the Windsor.
The family would like to give special thanks to Karen’s friends and the staff at the Windsor for their caring concern during her last illness.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no local services. A family memorial and interment will be at a later date in Illinois.
