K. Evelyn Crain Moschitta's Obituary
Katherine Evelyn Crain Moschitta, age 84, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026. She was born on August 18, 1941, in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Johnny Moschitta, Jr.; children, Gina Lynn Moschitta King (Patrick); Donna Anne Moschitta Giovingo (Frank); grandchildren, Shannon Marie King Jacobsen (Joshua), Sean Patrick King, Christian Matthew Giovingo, Jackson Elijah Giovingo; great-grandchildren, Kaden Sean Jacobsen, Alana Lynn Jacobsen, Grace Lily Jacobsen, Logan Will Jacobsen; sister-in-law, Rosary Crain; nephew, Lee Andrews; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Willard Crain Sr. and Hazel McDaniel Crain; and siblings, Jane Crain Andrews and Jesse “Woody” Crain Jr.
Mrs. Moschitta graduated from Bogalusa High School and Southeastern Louisiana University where she was a Majorette on the dance team. She ultimately earned a master’s degree in education and taught at Lyon and Covington Elementary Schools for nearly 30 years until her retirement in 1998. After retirement, Evelyn enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, and attending concerts, among many other adventures with her friends and family. She particularly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s ball games, reading to her great grandchildren, visiting Walt Disney World, and raising her Beagles, Teddy and Charlie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in the adjacent Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
