Beloved husband of Mary H. Guidry Miller; father of Wayne P. Guidry, Joseph C. Guidry and Cathy Guidry; and uncle to Butch Savell, Jerry Motley, Dean Cox, Jane Holley, Norma Jean Savell. Also grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Miller, Sr. and Jane Newton Miller; a brother, John W. Miller, Jr., and three sisters, Vida Motley, Velma Savell and Vernell Cox.
Age 78 years; a native of Panama City, Florida, a resident of Mandeville for the past 13 years and a former resident of Harahan for 30 years. He was a retired boat captain for the Orleans Levee Board on the Captain Lane. He also worked for the US Army Corp of Engineers in the Aquatic Dept. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 7286 of Covington.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to gather for the celebration of his life on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 S. New Hampshire, Covington, LA at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM.
