Judith D. Bennett's Obituary
Judith D. Bennett, age 86, of Bush, LA, passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, June 5, 2025. She was born on June 24, 1938 in Middletown, Ohio.
Judith was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Louis Bennett, her son, Randall Leslie Bennett Sr., parents, James Kell Darragh and Thella Kling Darragh, sister, Gail Young Richardson, and grandson, Joseph L. (Joey) Nuzzolill.
Judith is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Bennett, Laura Lawlor, Anne Favret; her daughter- in-law Karen Bennett; her grandchildren, Nikki Joy Nuzzolillo Norvell (Michael), Daniel Louis Lawlor (Kayla), Abigail Lillian Lawlor, Randall Leslie Bennett Jr., Christopher Ernest Bennett (Amanda), Brian Louis Bennett (Angelle), and Ronnie Scelson; her great grandchildren, Emma Grace Norvell, Sophia Nicole Lawlor, Diana Ellen Lawlor, Claire Althea Bennett, Gabriella Noel Bennett, Laila Joy Bennett, Kayla Scelson, Cameron Scelson, Robert Scelson; great-grandson Luka Jace Hege on the way, and many extended family members and friends.
Judith graduated from Chillicothe High School, and then went to Middletown Hospital and enrolled in their x-ray program. She became a registered x-ray tech and spent many years at Middletown Hospital. Judith then became an instructor shaping young minds at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Ohio for several years. In 1969, Judith went to Boston to take summer classes at Northeastern University, where she met Ernest Bennett (her late husband) and were married for 27 years. Her career in x-ray spanned over 50 years, being registered with ARRT and LSRT and teaching at Delgado Community College in New Orleans and teaching and later becoming Program Director at North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology in Hammond. LA.
Judy's interest included fishing, gardening, water color painting, WWII history, cruises to Alaska, and spending time with family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Judith Bennett may be made to Northshore Passages Hospice. The address is 46 Louis Prima Drive, Covington, LA 70433. Checks or money orders can be made payable to Passages Hospice with Judith Bennett on the “memo line”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at9:00 AM. Interment will follow in the adjacent Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
