My earliest memories of Joyce start when I was 8 years old & that was 62 years ago. Her kind, gentle and comforting spirit was always there for me during troubling times. I think it was very special, that with her compassion & gift for making others comfortable; that she became a social worker. No matter what walk of life you came from, I'm certain that Joyce treated everyone fairly without judgement. Joyce was definitely a role model for me as I was growing up. She was an amazing Mother who I always saw leading by example and encouraging her children to be good people with her quiet strength.
I will miss her greatly. But, it is so comforting to know that Joyce, by sharing her joy in life, her amazing laugh, and her strong faith; she touched everyone she met in such a positive way. It is very rare indeed that you come to know and love someone your whole life through like Joyce....in fact her name embodies Joy!
