Joyce J. Robinson's Obituary
Joyce J. Robinson, age 75, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. She was born on May 10, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Ollie and Lucille Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 30 years, Joseph C. Robinson, Jr.; her parents, Ollie Johnson and Lucille Stallworth Johnson; siblings, Jimmy Ford, Collins Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Sr., Alma Campbell, Roosevelt Johnson, Helen Clark, and Weater Fay Newton; and grandson, Dwight Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Handy (Annias, Sr.) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Stanley Barney, Bobby Barney, James L. Barney (Stacy), Leona "Beechie" Guyot, Alva Thompson, Jr., and Consuelo Cyprian (Herman), all of Covington; siblings, Gladys Jemison of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and China Mae Coleman, Lonnie Johnson, and Irene Elliott (Mose), all of Covington; 24 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Mrs. Joyce will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit and always making people feel at home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Community Church, 1148 N. Columbia Street, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
