Joyce Fleming Moran's Obituary
Joyce Fleming Moran, lovingly known as “Mawmaw,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on March 22, 1948, in Collinsville, Illinois.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She loved spending time with those she cherished most. Whether she was working in her yard or burning just about anything that would burn, she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. It was one of the many little things that made her uniquely Joyce and always brought a smile to the faces of those who loved her. Her strength, laughter, and unconditional love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her children, Duane Field, Dawn Field (Rich), and Christina Mitchell (Danny); her stepchildren, Timmy Moran (Brandy) and Sean Moran (Candice). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Bradley Bakle (Katie), Tiffany Gill (Bradley), Jamie Fry, Dayton Hendrix (Elissa), Mikaela Moran, Nora Moran, Sonny Moran, and Blair Naquin. Joyce was blessed with many great-grandchildren whom she adored: Bentley Gill, Brysen Gill, Brielle Bakle, Braxley Bakle, Aiden Daniel Fry, Jackson Fry, Presley Hendrix, Telvin Matthews, Avyana Henderson, Alexander Moran, Max Hilderbrand, Tripp Hilderbrand, Callum Payan, and Travis Guillot.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Michael Patrick Moran, Sr.; her parents, Luther and Velma Fleming; her stepson, Michael Moran Jr.; her siblings; and her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Fry and Michael Moran III. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Joyce is reunited with the love of her life. Her kindness, laughter, and the memories she created with her family will continue to live on in each of us.
Family and friends are invited to join us as we lay Joyce to rest beside her beloved husband at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, Louisiana.
