Joy Lynn Miley Foxworth's Obituary
Joy Lynn Miley Foxworth, age 64, a native Covington, passed away early Thursday morning March 29, 2007 at her home in Waldheim, with her family at her side. She was born in Madisonville, Louisiana at Madisonville Hospital in 1942.
Mrs. Foxworth was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington. She considered being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as love and a “celebration of life”. Professionally, her passion was educating others about the history of New Orleans, St. Tammany Parish and State of Louisiana in her profession as a licensed Tour Guide.
Mrs. Foxworth is preceded in passage by her father, Robert “Bob” Miley, and is survived by her husband of 47 years, J.A. “Norman” Foxworth of Covington; her mother, Vera Oalmann Miley; daughter, Jill Foxworth and partner Wilford Watts of Covington, LA; her son, John Foxworth and wife Cindy of Gulfport, MS; and grandchildren Ashley M. Foxworth and R. Connor Foxworth; sister, Gertrude Burkart; niece, Christi Burkart; brother, Gary Miley and others.
The funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens adjacent to the funeral home.
In complying with Joy’s requests, the family prefers that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Memory of Joy Foxworth to First Baptist Church – “Young At Heart Program”, 16333 Hwy 1085, Covington, LA 70433.
