Josephine D'Angelo Murphy's Obituary
Josephine D’Angelo Murphy fell asleep in death on Monday, October 16, 2023 in Mandeville, LA.
Josephine was born in New Orleans, LA on June 25, 1939 to Emile D’Angelo and Mary D’Angelo. After graduating from Annunciation High School in May of 1958 she was married to James G. Murphy and began her new life as a mother. She went on to have four wonderful children. In her spare time, she attended Delgato Community College and went on to receive her Associate of Applied Science degree in Food Technology. Later in her life she attended Moler Beauty College and obtained her board-certified cosmetology license.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Gerard Murphy, Sr., her parents, Emile and Mary D’Angelo. She is survived by her children, Nancy Rando (Barry), Kathleen Schaefer (Jerry), Coleen Murphy and James Murphy, Jr. (Judy), and also survived by nine grandchildren, Steven Rando (Courtney), Louis Rando (Kim), Rachael Rando, Lance Schaefer, Aaron Schaefer, Erica Murphy, Kelly Ferguson, Marie Murphy, Matthew Murphy and four great-grandchildren, Henry Rando, Lydia Rando, Isabelle Rando and Elijah Joseph Ferguson, and her brother, Emile D’Angelo, Jr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA at 11:00 am with the visitation starting at 9:00 am until Mass time. Burial will follow in St Louis Cemetery #3 at 1:00 pm in New Orleans, LA.
