Josephine "Josie" Gremillion's Obituary
Mrs. Josephine “Josie” Gremillion passed away on December 16, 2024 at the age of 95. She was born in Bunkie, LA to Virginia Ellis. She was a resident of Covington, LA for 60 years.
Josie is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John L. Gremillion and her daughter, Janet G. Plyer. She is survived by her two children Jill G. Miller (David) and James “Jimmy” Gerard Gremillion (Beverly); seven grandchildren, Lacey Menetre Rivas (David), Jessica Brupbacher Anderton (David), Brandon Taylor (Amy), Corey Taylor (Kali), John Gremillion (Ashlin), Marc Gremillion (Katie) and Paul Gremillion (Eryn); ten great-grandchildren, Timothy Allgood, (Rachael Sarah), Matthew Allgood (Kristen), Jacob Allgood, (Melinda), Emily Allgood and Cameron Rivas, Jared, Paul and Will Anderton, Cole and Cooper Taylor; and five great-great-grandchildren, Arabella and Archer Allgood, Raelyn and Ryder Allgood and Evie Allgood. She is also survived by her Bunkie cousins, Barbara Kyle (Larry), Ronnie Deville (Paula), Roland Deville (Sandy), Vinson Mouser (Lucretia), their children, Tanek, Kaia, and Finnigan.
Josie was dedicated to the Knights of Columbus #3061 and the President of the Kaycettes Auxiliary. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Peters Church and a volunteer for the Altar Society. She would also administer Communion to the parishioners who were homebound. She was a volunteer of the Hospital Guild at St. Tammany Hospital, St. Peters and SSA School.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
