Joseph “Buck” Smith surrounded by family, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the age of 74.
Beloved husband of Beverly John Smith. Loving father of Cindy Hilbert, Patti Smith and Joseph A. Smith. Son of the late Josephine and Joseph Smith. Grandfather of Andrew Hilbert and Madison Smith. Father-in-law of Wanda Smith and Jack Hilbert. Brother of Jo-Ann Adams, Ronald and Terry Smith and the late Audrey Smith.
He was past president of Delta Lions and current member of Mandeville Lions. Mr. Smith was involved in numerous carnival organizations and was past King of the Krewe of Atlas. His favorite pastimes were fishing, baseball, going to casinos and staying in touch with friends. He loved cooking and was famous for “Buck’s Biscuits”. He will be remembered for his love of life and a good time.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Mass on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 with visitation on Monday beginning at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Smith be made to the LA Lions Children’s Camp, 292 Leonard Beuford Dr., Anococo, LA 71403 or the LA Lions Eye Foundation, 2020 Gravier, New Orleans, LA 70112.
