Joseph Palazzolo's Obituary
Joseph Palazzolo passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the residence of his daughter in Covington, LA.
Beloved father of Joyce P. Chiusano, Barbara P. Marullo and her husband A.P., Cynthia P. Kern and her husband Melvin; loving grandfather to Jerry, Tony, Jay, Gina, Nicolle, Jude, A.P., III, LeaJeana, Michael and Maria; great-grandfather to Stephanie, CherieLynn, Gabrielle, Eddie, Elizabeth, Eli, Brittany and Rocco; great-great-grandfather to Ethan and Theresa; and brother of Pauline Voiron. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Emma Campione Palazzolo; his son, Jerome Palazzolo; his mother, Zula Dovie Palazzolo; his father, Antonio Palazzolo; a son-in-law, Anthony Chiusano; five brothers, Nick, Vick, Sammy, Santo and Angelo Palazzolo; and a sister, Mary Russo.
Age 100 years, he was native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Covington, LA for the past four years. He was the owner and operator of Pal’s Barber Shop on Caton Street in New Orleans. His career as a barber began in New Orleans at the age of 14 where he practiced most of his life, except for a short time in New York across from the Empire State Building.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 East 19th Avenue, Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation AT THE CHURCH will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum at Metairie Cemetery.
