Sincerest condolences and prayers to Joe’s family. Joe was a big supporter of Mandeville High, when I coached football and girls basketball, and we became friends. Joe’s lively spirit and laughter will be missed. My wife and I had the privilege of living in two different beautiful homes that he built for us, and we will forever remember our friend.

I was so surprised to see Joe's obituary while I was checking on another individual.
I first met Joe in the 70's through his then wife, Marie. Our first children were born close in age and we all spent time together. For a number of year we had a big New Year's Eve celebration alternating houses.
I moved to Baton Rouge in 1984 and lost touch. Later, I learned he had married Suzy, a big school classmate. Joe had two great wives and daughters.
I think of you all often and know that Joe is at peace.
Joe and I enjoyed spending time seeing LSU play in Omaha at the CWS in 2015 and again in 2017. I learned much about his past during the 17 hour drives to Omaha. From his childhood to college to Vietnam experiences. He will be missed. Barry Byrd
