Joseph John Halisky, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph John Halisky, Jr. passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011. A resident of New Orleans since 1985, he was born April 11, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Joseph John Halisky and Lucille Ragus Halisky Samsing.
The beloved husband of Julia Theoharatos Halisky, he is survived by his daughter, Jolie A. McCaleb; one son, Col. Joseph G. Halisky, U.S. Army; two brothers, Nicholas Halisky and James Samsing and five grandchildren: Joseph J., III and Jacob Halisky, Zoe Guidry, Luci and Lilli McCaleb.
Mr. Halisky received degrees from the University of Notre Dame in 1958 and 1959 before serving 2 years in the U.S. Army. Following an honorable discharge in 1962, he began his 30 plus year career as a Mechanical Engineer. He retired as the Chief Operating Officer from Textron Marine and Land Systems in New Orleans.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Saturday at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will take place following cremation.
