Joseph L. Cull, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph L. Cull, Jr., died peacefully at home on Monday, August 3, 2009 after a long illness at the age of 92.
Beloved husband of Carmel Senac Fust Cull. Stepfather of Sandra Schulz, Grace Huerstel (Frank), Benny Fust (Bonnie), and George Fust (Darleen). He will be missed by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Carmel Fust Cull. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews: Claude H. Solanas, Marie Falgoust, Blanche LeBlanc, Alice LeBlanc and James LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Williams Cull and Joseph L. Cull, Sr.; his first wife, Stella LeBlanc Cull; and his sister, Margaret Ida Cull.
He graduated from Jesuit High School and attended Loyola University where he studied accounting. He was a graduate of the U.S. Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. He sailed for four years in the Atlantic, Pacific and the Mediterranean Sea. He was licensed as a Chief Mate. He worked as a Sales Manager for Smith Chevrolet and was General Manager for Bernie Dumas Buick where he retired in 1982. He attended Southeastern University for a number of years after retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3061. He was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in Covington, LA. He was a long time resident of Covington, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 with visitation on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Hospice of St. Tammany.
