Joseph Stanley “Joe” Brister, Jr. passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Covington, LA. He was born on November 22, 1933 in Isola, MS to the late Joseph Stanley Brister, Sr. and Elizabeth Sparks Brister.
Joe was married to his beloved wife, Patricia Phillips “Pat” Brister, for 40 years. He was the loving father of Ken Brister, Mark Beck, Matt Beck, Jill Beck Heebe (Clark), and the late Steven Brister. Joe was the proud grandfather of Ryan, Ross, Leigh, Kay, Beck, Davis, Libby, William, and Henry. He was the brother of Tish B. Counselman and the late Donna B. Delk.
Joe lived a full life surrounded by close friends and family.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ride of the Brotherhood, a homeless veteran's transition shelter, www.rideofthebrotherhood.org.
