Jon Amon Lutz's Obituary
Jon Amon Lutz passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the age of 59, in Covington, Louisiana surrounded by his wife and children. Jon is now at peace after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for 10 years.
Beloved husband of 12 years to Bobette Morgan Lutz. Loving father of Erin Stant, Shane Lutz (Maggie), Alexis Lutz, Chase Gourgues and Cody Gourgues. Son of the late Florence Kenmuir Perkins and Gayle Eugene Lutz, Sr. The grandson of the late Charles and Margaret Kenmuir and Carl and Myrtle Lutz. He was preceded in death by his sisters the late Melanie S. Lutz, Melinda L. Lutz Yelle, Margaret A. Lutz, and his twin brother Joe A. Lutz.
He is survived by his siblings, brother of Gayle Eugene Lutz, Jr (Sandy) of Cocoa Florida, Jeanie J. Lutz of Arlington, TX, Marcus D. Lutz (Connie) of St. Charles Illinois, Dan R. Lutz (Adrienne) of Tulsa, OK, Mary Jane Nichols (Mike) of Connersville, IN, He is blessed with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jon was a 1977 graduate of Connersville High School and later graduated with a bachelor degree in Marketing from Indiana University. He was self-employed and also networked with Workplace Resource of Texas as a subcontractor. His passion for high school wrestling continued as he coached many young men, including his sons to State Championships at St. Paul’s Catholic High School. Jon was a passionate gardener, loved to travel and enjoy a great glass of red wine. Jon was a sports enthusiast, especially LSU football.
Jon will always be remembered as a true, gracious, gentlemen, humorous, witty, and compassionate to everyone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457 on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Lutz to be made to Ochsner Zebra House Fund, 200 West Esplanade Ave Suite 200, Kenner La 70065.
