John Richard Taranto's Obituary
John Richard Taranto passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Covington, LA at the age of 87. He was born in New Orleans, LA on November 26, 1926 to Anna Najolia and Felix J. Taranto and lived in Metairie for many years before moving permanently to Folsom in 1990.
The beloved husband of the late Sonia Treadaway Taranto, he is survived by four sons - Kippard (Darlene), Richard (Melissa), Blair (Sherry) and Brett (Connie) Taranto; five daughters - Faith Giordano (Victor), Hope Naquin (Barry), Charity Wright (Chuck), Maria Bono (Bubba) and Ann Floyd (Billy); one sister - Joyce Geraci; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son - Lance Taranto, Sr. and one granddaughter - Lauren Taranto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 11345 St. John Church Rd. Folsom, LA 70437.
The family has scheduled 2 opportunities for viewing:
On the Northshore - before mass at the church visitation will begin Saturday at 8:30 AM.
On the Southshore – after mass at Lakelawn-Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard New Orleans, LA, 70124, Southshore residents may visit the family from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Interment at Metairie Cemetery will immediately follow the visitation at Lakelawn.
