John Fabre Preis' Obituary
John Fabre Preis, age 84, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009.
Husband of Bernice Smith Preis for 64 years. Fahter of Tana P. Glockner of South Carolina, Deborah P. Boudreaux, Johnnie Lynn P. Letsch, and Lisa P. Tuyes. Father-in-law of George L. Boudreaux, Danny R. Letsch, and Wayne C. Tuyes. Son of the late R. Joseph Preis and Corrine Walker Preis. Brother of Richard D. Preis and the late James R. Preis and Joseph W. Preis. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was also loved by his deceased grandson Daren S. Boudreaux.
He was a native of New Orleans and Metairie, LA and a resident of Covington, LA.
He served in WW II in the Atlantic and Pacific as I, II, III Engineer Officer, and was honorably discharged from the US Coast Guard. He was a member of the Good Ole Metairie Boys; twice past president, and member of the Metairie High School Alumni Association.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, July 1,2009 at 1:00 PM. Visitation from 11:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Daren S. Boudreaux Scholarship Fund, St. Paul’s High School, 917 S. Jahncke Ave., Covington, LA 70433 and/or in honor of Andrew R. Danenhower, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814.
