John Michael Pearson's Obituary
John Michael Pearson passed from this life into the loving arms of his Father in Heaven on March 28, 2020 at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, LA. He was born on April 19, 1936 in Dalark, AR. He was 84 years old.
John began college at Hendrix in Conway, AR, transferred to University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and then moved to Houston where he attended University of Houston before joining the U. S. Army. He was a veteran of 26 years and retired as Lt. Col. in the Army Reserves.
John began his career as a Director of Human Resources for many oil and gas companies, and toward the end of his career he did background interviews for the United States Federal Government.
On November 13, 1976 he met and married the love of his life, Juanita Daussat of New Orleans, LA. John had a very generous heart and was known by many as a gentle giant. He and Juanita loved shopping together, eating at many different restaurants and just being together. He loved buying gifts for her.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a large family of in-laws, 9 nieces and nephews, their husbands and wives, 13 great nieces and nephews, their husbands and wives, 2 great great niece and nephew, his constant companion fur baby “Diva” and many, many friends!
John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hammond and a 30 year member of the Kiwanis Club. He is also a retired member of the Hammond Civil Service Board.
John was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Pearson, Sr. and Mittie Bradley Pearson, sister Ann B. Pearson, brother Ernest Pearson, Jr. and wife Judy, his wife’s parents Arthur and Eugenie Daussat and one infant great niece.
Graveside service will be held at Theodore Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville, LA, Reverend Drew Sutton presiding. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church and announced at a later date. Please Share a Memory on the Tribute Wall at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
