John P. Moore's Obituary
John P. Moore passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2008.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Henderson Moore; four children: Elizabeth M. Novak, Craig H. and David S. Moore, Jane M. Johnson and seven grandchildren. He is the brother of Mary Franklin Cherry and the late Joseph Moore.
Mr. Moore served in the Navy during WW II and was employed by Shell Oil as a Petroleum Engineer until his retirement. He joined the first United Methodist Church of Covington when he moved into the community 40 years ago and briefly served on the Board of Directors for Tchefuncte Club Estates. He also enjoyed his membership at the St. Tammany Woodworkers Association and volunteering his time for the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow services at Theodore Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville.
