John was always a friendly face to some very slow days at PYC. He always had some good jokes and wit to share. He would always tell me his beautiful sailing experience of that day over a fabulous cocktail I made him. Good shop talk. I am blessed to have known him.

To the entire Mitchell family - and the extended family of John Mitchell: I understand your loss, whether family or friend of Mr Mitchell. He was a wonderful man, a great leader, and a role model to many of today's business people and citizens. I can only hope that in his "new position" I will have him watching over me like he did so many years ago.

To say that I've got "many great childhood memories" spending time together with Bill and his dad, Mr. John, would be only a glimpse of the gift the Mitchell "family" has been to me and to the Jackson family in Mobile. For me, his legacy will always be his love and deep respect of the outdoors, wildlife and fishing. He, and my own dad, Bubba Jackson, taught me to appreciate and truly love the gift of nature that God has given us. I recall learning to "skeet-shoot" with Bill and his Dad, and how much fun it was to hunt and fish with them. Mr. John was unique in his "passion" for what he liked to do. And it makes me smile to think of him, his love for Ms. Carola, and all of his kids. The Mitchell family is his legacy, and they are a real gift to the rest of us who had the joy of sharing some time together on this earth. I believe that this world of ours is a much better place because of John Mitchell, and his spirit will live through his wonderful family. God bless you as you deal with his passing. et
Mrs. Mitchell and family, 30 years ago, I had the pleasure of working as a clerk on Mr. Mitchell's staff. Mr. Mitchell was such a nice man. I will always cherish those 6 years. God Bless Mr. Mitchell and his family
