We met John in the North Country of Minnesota. We were neighbors at Prairie Lake Campground. Our daughter had just took a tumble down a dirt hill right by John's camper and he scooped up that crying toddler and carried her all the way to our campsite! From that moment on we were fast friends. We enjoyed getting to know John and hearing all about where he called home. Our fondest memory was when John took our family out in his boat fishing on his favorite Lake; Spider. We will always think of John when we visit that lake. We also had the pleasure of meeting John's loving wife, Jill, while our stay at the campground. What amazing people and we are very thankful to have had John's kind soul in our lives. We are forever thankful for the memories with our friend and we will hold John close in our hearts always. We know without a doubt that John is living an eternal life to the fullest because he has a special little boy next to his side up there; our son Aiden. This is not the end, we will see our loved ones again.

June 1957 for the firs time our dad Kenny took John and I to see Sweeny lake house: I was in casts on both legs, I was so excited to see the lake, I wanted to go down the hill to the waters edge. John was very vehement that I should not crawl down to the lake. He told me the hill was steep and long, and that he would not carry me back up the hill. I do not really remember but he must of carried me around a lot. John was a good brother and carried me back up the hill.
John was always so cool. When we were kids John taught me how to button my shirt. John said that I should always start at the top, that way the tails were always even. I tried his way once and went back to my way of buttoning my shirt from the middle. I still think of that day every morning when I button my shirt.
Johns friends nicknamed him Foreman, I always wondered why; maybe it relates how he buttoned his shirt.
