Deirdre, Please know my thought are with you through this time of loss. It has been 8 months since Ned's passing. I'm here if you want to talk. Many prayers always.
Loss is an integral part of loving. Those who love deeply feel the loss of the one they love deeply. I know that this is your experience, right now.
My prayer is that God will give you comfort and set His peace in the midst of your grief.
We want to express our sincere condolences to the family and our sadness in the loss of a truly loving and wonderful person whom we were proud to call our friend for over 40 years. Part of the difficulty in having recently moved so far away is that we were unable to be there for Jack and his family in the trying times of his illness. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and we remember Jack with much joy, respect and friendship. We know he will be sadly missed by many, ourselves included.
Deirdre:
You and your loved ones will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Your friend, Ana
Deirdre and Family, What can I say? Jack was a special friend and I'm going to miss him. Deirdre, you are an inspiration to me - you are a rock and your love for Jack is so evident - I was so touched when Sandie, Dena and I came to visit a few months ago. I'm so glad to have seen Jack one more time and I am looking forward to his memorial; it's so approriate for what Jack would want. Please know that you will remain in my thoughts and prayers and I am looking forward to seeing you again soon. Love ya, Cindy
Dear Dierdre and family,
Fanny and I send you our heartfelt condolences. I don’t have to tell you that he was a great man, as well as a great engineer and scientist. I am so grateful for everything he taught me, from acoustic phonetics and auditory physiology to psychophysics and experimental design. Some of the ideas he taught me as a PhD student were the basis for my first NIH grants, many years after I left New Orleans. He was a real role model not only because of the quality of his thinking but also because of his honest, ethical attitudes. He was a good man.
Some people say you don’t really die until everyone who loved you is gone. If so, Jack will be with us for a long, long time (as I type this I can imagine Jack smirking and saying: “Gee, Mario, that’s really original”- Sorry, Jack, it may not be original but it’s true).
Deidre, Wanda and I are very sorry for your loss. During our evacuation for Katrina, we got to know you and Jack and enjoyed the short time we spent together.
Deirdre and Family...I offer my hearfelt sympathy for you profound loss. Jack will be missed by all. He was an amzing guy and obvioulsy very loved and respected by all who came in contact with him...He was a very fortunate man to have so much love in his life.
We were very sory to hear of Jack's death. You have our deapest sympathy. We would love to come to Jack's memorial party but will be unable since we have previous obligations and plane tickets to be in Puerto Rico at that time. Our thoughts will be with you. Charlie and Nilda Parkins
