Cookie, Trina, Ted and all who loved John, we are so sorry for your loss. We have fond memories of John and the wonderful way in which he memorialized the annual oyster get-together at Alvan & Bertha's home with personalized music/photo CD's. We know he will be missed by all. We'll be lifting you up in our prayers, for God to comfort you at this sad time in your lives.
I worked with John for over 24 years. During this time I treasured his intelligence, humor and unwavering honesty.
We have lost a truly fine man.
John Howell was the best. So smart and so witty. He could sure tell a story! I will miss him and his friendship. He is probably redesigning heaven!
Dear Kay, I am shocked by the news. It seems just like yesterday when I visited you at your new Covington home. John and I sat on the patio enjoying the beautiful and peaceful space right in your own back yard. I will always remember John as the vital, vivacious, kind, and generous man he was since I met in 1994 at the S&WB. I am so sorry to hear about John and his recently failing health. I am so lucky to have spoken with him lately. He was a wonderful man and a loss to many. God Bless.
