John Daniel Cottage, Jr.'s Obituary
John Daniel Cottage, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2007.He was born February 24, 1916 to the late John D., Sr. and Anna Helen Cottage in Conway, PA, was a longtime resident of Hattiesburg, MS and lived most recently in Lacombe, LA.
A Veteran of WW II, he served in the U.S. Army for 6 years and the U.S. Navy for 22 years before retiring from the military to become a golf course designer. He was a member of the PGA of America - a Superintendent for New Orleans, Metairie and Colonial Country Clubs, and the turf manager for the N.O. Saints. He spent a few years designing Golf Courses in Florida before retiring to Hattiesburg, MS.
He is survived by one son, Michael J. Cottage; two daughters, Susan C. Snyder and Dayna Ann Caplan and one sister, Katherine C. Knox. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings George, Charlie, Joe and Anne Cottage.
Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS with full military honors on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 12:30 PM.
