John Bruce Brannon's Obituary
John Bruce Brannon, age 85, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at his residence in Lacombe, LA. Born Sunday, February 19, 1933 in Greenville, SC to Burton Earl and Evelyn Louise Rodgers Brannon.
Survived by his Daughters - Paige Brannon Gunter and Tamala Brannon Dupuy (John Dupuy), Son - Scott Gilchrist Brannon (Judy Brannon), Grandchildren- Aaron Angelo, Laurel Brannon, Sara Brannon Ford, David Dupuy, Jessica Dupuy Dupre, Shelby Gunter Gachassin, and Parker Gunter and 10 Great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Gilchrist Brannon and his parents.
Bruce attended the University of South Carolina where he belonged to the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was a proud Marine Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Bruce spent most of his career as a sales manager with GTE- Sylvania lighting. Upon his retirement he served twenty-two years as Captain and Safety Officer for St. Tammany Fire District 3 where he was recently awarded a lifetime honorary membership. Bruce was a longtime member of the St. Timothy United Methodist Church Choir where he was known for his bass voice and sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Dr. Mandeville, LA 70448 on Monday, December 3, 2018.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 until service time at 11:00. A light lunch will be provided in the gym afterwards.
