Mrs. Banks I was very sorry to hear about the death of LTC Banks. I worked with J.D. for a long time at Jackson Barracks. He was quite a character. I could always tell how much of a family man he was whenever I would visit his office at the Barracks. His office would always be decorated with pictures and stuff from his kids. You could tell how much you and they meant to him. May the Lord bless him and bless all of you.
To Diana and family - Words can't convey our sorrow, but I know God's peace must be with you because JD always walked with God. I last saw JD on 19 April and he told me that morning how happy he was with his home and family in Mandeville, and how very proud he was of his children; and he said that you were happy, Diana, and that God had blessed him. I haven't seen or talked to JD in several years. I missed my neighbor and friend long before this tragedy. I am so sorry that Dianne and the children will now miss him too. May God bless you all and JD rest in peace.

JD was an interesting guy. He loved holding court in his office, and entertaining people. Never knew which way a conversion would go with JD, he could change into one of his characters on the fly. I always respected the adoration and reverence he showed when speaking about his family. He was a good man. Best Wishes and Health go out to his family.

J.D. was more than a co-worker or a colonel to me, he was my "Friend". He always had his individual brand of advice for me, I truly wish I can have it today. I share you lost and send my condolences. J.D. will always be in my prayers.
