Joanne Dufrene Christian passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of 58 years to James Aubrey Christian. Loving mother of Jim Christian (wife Pamela Miller Christian) and Ann Christian. Daughter of the Read Obituary
Joanne worked at the Samaritan Center in Mandeville with me for several years. She was a joy to know and a blessing to all who were served by her kind and loving heart. I have often remembered the day she prayed for me about a serious issue. I treasure my memories of working with this dear and gracious lady.

When I think of someone who loved life and brightened the lives of everyone around her, I think of Mama Jo. She always had a big hug, a joke, and an understanding ear. She will be missed greatly and was loved by so many.
We are so sorry for your loss. She was one of a kind! We loved her. She taught these New England Yankees all we will ever know about Cajun live. I am so glad I got to visit with Mama Jo on Monday. We laughed and told stories about when I was in high school with Ann. She will be greatly missed.
