Joan M. Stott's Obituary
Joan Margarite Stott passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Covington, LA. She was born on March 11, 1936 in Belize City, Belize to Rose Edith Batty and Ignacio J. Martinez. She married Charles W. Stott on January 21, 1956 in Huntington, West Virginia. They had four sons and lived in Indiana and New Jersey before moving to Diamondhead, Mississippi in 1994 and to Mandeville, Louisiana in 2015.
Joan is survived by her husband, Charles W. Stott; three sons, Charles W. Stott, Jr. of Florida, Ronald P. Stott (Beverly) of New Jersey and Jason E. Stott of Louisiana; five sisters, Gilda M. Deeks, Greta M. Vollenweider (Melvin), Jessie M. Bourgeois (Edward), Elizabeth M. Fogarty and Rose Fogarty Cutrer (Clyde); two brothers, Ignacio P. Martinez (Gladys) and Reyenaldo E. Martinez; and four grandchildren, Katherine Bittle (Steve) , Alexandra Stott, J. Cameron Stott and Courtney Reid.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son - George H. Stott; and one brother, Godfrey M. Martinez.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Drive Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation at the church on Saturday will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will immediately follow mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Louisiana Chapter, 3445 N. Causeway Blvd, suite 902, Metairie, LA 70002-3770.
