Joan Ann Bretey Degelos' Obituary
Joan Ann Bretey Degelos passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the age of 82. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 20 years. Daughter of the late Evelyn Hampton Brouillette and George H. Bretey; step-daughter of the late Louis Brouillette and Rose Bretey. Beloved wife of the late Richard Adolph Degelos. Loving mother of Eric Harrison Degelos, Susan Degelos Murray, Carolyn Degelos Conravey, David Glenn Degelos and the late Lee Richard Degelos. Grandmother of Candice, Marie, Denise, Jacques, Megan, Douglas, Erica and Eric. Great-grandmother of Jordan and Cade. Sister of Dwight Bretey and the late George Bretey. Step-sister of Luana Brouillette Roth and Lola Brouillette Salia.
She was a real estate agent who also obtained a broker’s license. Her first and foremost in life was her selfless dedication to her family. In return she was cared for in the same selfless way she exuded in us. She was a very special lady and a treasure to us. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at, E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mrs. Degelos to be made to Upward Community Services, Covington, LA via www.upwardcommunityservices.org
