Jimmie Earlene Mathews Stogner's Obituary
Jimmie Earlene Mathews Stogner passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008 in Slidell, Louisiana. She was born May 22, 1926 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Katie Swift and James Mathews and was a life long resident of Bossier City, Louisiana.
Jimmie is survived by three loving children: Carolyn Darlene Steed, Robert R. “Bob” Womack (Ruth) and Linda Womack Beaver; one sister, Eunice M. Granger; six grandchildren: Christopher Shawn Steed (Christie), Jennifer Susan Steed Burleson (Sid), Tamara Ruth Womack Clements (Vincent), April Sarah Womack, Jonathan James Womack, Jaime Lynn Beaver and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Alicia Diane Beaver; one brother, Melvin Mathews; two sisters, Mabel Farmer and Ruby Kinkead; son-in-law, James “Vic” Beaver and Ben Steed.
Jimmie was a godly woman and a wonderful mother whose love for Jesus and godly principles illuminated the lives of her children, grandchildren and all those who knew her. Jimmie was a stranger to no one and loved by everyone she came in contact with. She was a private duty sitter by profession who loved and cared for each patient as if they were related to her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to participate in the celebration of her life at the funeral services on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana 71111.
Friends and relatives are also encouraged to attend a wake scheduled for Thursday from 3:45PM until 6:30 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., COvington, LA 70433 and on Friday, October 17, 2008 at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana 71111 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with visiting hours beginning Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow services at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City.
