Jesse S. Harris' Obituary
Jesse S. Harris passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008.
He was born in Courtney, TX on March 21, 1927 to the late Adelade Wilding and Samuel F. Harris and has been a resident of Bush for 31 years. The beloved husband of Yolande Elton Harris, he is survived by seven children: Jesse Seth, Jr., Ray Steven, George Gray, Margaret Ann Mitcham, Lewis West, Gary Lee Harris, Velma Dell Bel Harris; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is the brother of Samuel F. Harris, Margaret H. Creel and the late W.G. Harris.
Before retiring from the U.S. Navy to St. Tammany Parish in 1966, Petty Officer Harris served his country in World War II and lived in a number of states throughout his 23 year career. He also spent 10 years as a Deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow services at Barker-McManus Cemetery in Covington.
