Jerry Willis' Obituary
Jerry Willis, lifetime resident of Bush, Louisiana, went to be with The Lord on Friday, September 16, 2022.
He was born on September 4, 1938, to the late Charlie and Lela Thompson Willis.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years Earlene Spell Willis. They were blessed with three children, Debbie Penton Fletcher of Bogalusa, Louisiana; Wayne Willis (deceased); Karen Hebert (Ed) of Monticello, Florida and grandchildren Jeremy Penton (Kristy); Amber Vargas (Carlos); Patrick Penton (Mechelle), Ashley Cobb (Levi) and Austin Hebert. And then there are the 12 great grands and he did believe they were the greatest and the grandest!!!
His surviving sister is Linda Tisdale of Covington, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Willis King, Clinton Willis, Curtis Willis, Cloie Willis Anderson, and Patsy Willis Jones.
Jerry never met a stranger in his 84 years of life. His family and friends enjoyed his many “creative stories” that always provided a great source of conversation as well as entertainment for all. To know him was to love him.
He will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors.
All services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435, where he was a faithful member. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and services following at 11:30 AM, with Senior Pastor Bro. Clark Stewart and Associate Pastor Bro. Toby Hughes officiating.
