My sincere sympathy to all of "Cotton's" family. He was a favorite cousin.Love to all!June Liebel Le Guluche, daughter of Aunt Helen Liebel
We are so very sorry for your loss and sorry that the weather is keeping us from attending the services. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
My deepest condolences go out to the entire Cambre family. I loved visiting Cousin Cotton as a child. I have a ton of memories that I will always cherish. God has called him home; he needed a master Gardener for the roses there. He will be missed.
The passing of Cousin Cotton has brought back many fond memories to me. Staying at the "new" house he built across the lake, hunting rabbits being chased by beagle dogs with him and Dickey, going to a cold church where monks were singing in the back ground, climbing in the barn's loft jumping in the hay stack. Silly stuff, but precious. I really enjoyed talking with him about when he was a boy, growing up in old Metry, going away to war, hunting deer, rabbits, ducks, and geese, growing his roses. I wish now I had listened closer and spent more time with him. I can still hear him say "hey cuz, how ya doing". By the way, I don't remember how he got the name Cotton. I think it was because of the color of his hair. Cotton Cambre, what a great name ! Anyway, I love ya Cuz. Thanks for watching over mom for me. See you again someday, but I hope not too soon.
To the immediate family of Cotton, my deepest sympathy. When you are in the Metairie area, stop by the monument on the corner on Metairie Road and Bonnabel Blvd and appreciate his contribution to WW II. I have many fond memories of Aunt Emma and family. We lived for a time on Phosphor across the street. Cousin Lillian Graythen Bowser
Marguerite and Jimmy, I remember being so excited when Mom and Dad said we were going to Uncle Cotton and Aunt Margaret's. Uncle Cotton would let us have a rose from his beloved garden, play with the cows (I used to think he was magical the way the cows listened to him), and let us chase "Tom" the turkey out of his garden. My kids remember that "huge" bull in the barn, and getting rides on his lap on the tractor. He was a very loving man. He will be missed. God bless all of you.Judy, Pete, Pete Jr, Amy
Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
Marguerite, Jimmy, and Family:Sending my most heartfelt thoughts of sympathy and love to you all. Remembering Cotton for his kindness and friendship.
