JeriLynn Michelle Hall Mayeur's Obituary
JeriLynn Michelle Hall Mayeur, age 35, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was born on March 22, 1989, in Marrero, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, David Arnold Mayeur, Jr.; son Raymond Mayeur; mother, Earline Dufrene Hall; siblings, Angele Chabert Kimberly (Chris), Blayne Chabert (Ashleigh); and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry LaDon Hall.
JeriLynn was born in Marrero, Louisiana and raised in the Covington area and Waldheim, Louisiana. She graduated from Covington High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University’s School of Nursing where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She had an amazing career at Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell, Louisiana and in New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as St. Tammany Hospital, where she met many friends who have helped her throughout her long-fought battle with breast cancer. Growing up, JeriLynn considered herself to be an introvert, but the friends she made along the way would say otherwise. She was a brave and strong woman that not only battled cancer but worked full time as a nurse to support her family throughout her entire treatment. Although battling cancer multiple times took a toll, JeriLynn always put others first and knew how to light up the room with her smile. She was there for everyone when they were in need, and she truly changed peoples’ lives with her kindness.
She had not flown on a plane since childhood, but she took a chance, flying alone, and attended a “Breast Rest” retreat with other Breast Cancer survivors, which started her journey spreading awareness about breast cancer and reaching out to women across the country to help them with their own journeys. She attended multiple YSC (Young Survival Coalition) Summits, often traveling alone across the country without fear, in order to help those that were in the same position as herself. She became a part of The Boobie Queen Company, a nonprofit organization that helps women affected by breast cancer during and after treatment, where she met good friends that traveled across the country to visit in her time of need.
JeriLynn’s impact on the breast cancer community and her local community are unmatched. All while going through her own journey, she made it a point without fail to attend the annual Hogs for the Cause event in New Orleans, Louisiana to support Pediatric Brain Cancer patients and families. She was also a proud member of the Lambda Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She was a true leader for those struggling and knew just the right words to cheer people up when they were down. Her kind heart and amazing spirit will remain in the memories of many. She will be deeply missed and always loved.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in memory of Mrs. Mayeur that may be made to one of JeriLynn’s favorite organizations, Hogs for the Cause, a non-profit organization for Pediatric Brain Cancer, at https://hogsforthecause.org/
