Jeffrey L. Abney's Obituary
Jeffrey Leroy Abney passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. A native of Abita Springs, LA, he was born on Tuesday, October 17, 1939 to Alma Lemons and Foster Abney and was a resident of Toledo Bend for many years before moving back "home" to Mandeville, LA in 2003.
The beloved husband of Donice Sharp Abney for 53 years, he is survived by one son - Jeffrey David Abney (Helen); his daughter - Rebel Abney Judge (Joseph D. III); one sister - Bobbye McGehee; six grandchildren - Lacey Abney, Joseph D. IV, Holly A., Daniel J., Abigail N. and Lilli A. Judge; five great grandchildren - Owen, Cody, Myla, Dustin and Mali-Ann. He was also the beloved PaPa to Bailey Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers - Foster, Sonny, Mickey and Dougie Abney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 12:30 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours on Thursday will begin at 9:30 AM.
Interment at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA will immediately follow services.
