Jeannette Brown Baudot's Obituary
Jeannette Brown Baudot passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008. She was born July 15, 1931 in Gadsden, AL to the late John L. and Edna Turner Brown and was a long time resident of Mandeville.
She is survived by her daughter, Kara Suzanne “Suzi” Bovia; one grandson, Christopher Nelson Baudot; her brother, Benjamin A. Brown; son-in-law Leon Bovia III; step-grandchildren Kevin Matthew and Tracy Lynn; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary “Butz” Baudot, her son, Christopher “Chris” Baudot and a brother Lawrence “Larry” Brown. Jeannette was a devoted mother as her children grew up.
As the first president of Mandeville Elementary, she was the creator of “Mandy”, the elementary school mascot. Then she served terms in the 1970’s as president and other offices at Mandeville High. She was a soloist in the choir at Mandeville Union Protestant Church. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and a member of the Krewe of Juno. Her active lifestyle and career took her to New Orleans, Texas and Gadsden, AL for a period of time before she moved back to Mandeville in 2002.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Dr. Mandeville, LA 70448 on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow services at the Mandeville Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington, LA.
