Dr. Jeanne Rateau Yazbeck's Obituary
Dr. Jeanne Rateau Yazbeck passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 due to complications associated with Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 79.
Former wife of the late Oscar A. Paysse, Jr. and Joseph Yazbeck. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Jules B. Rateau and Josephine Burk Rateau. She was also preceded in death by her brother Jules B. Rateau, Jr. and sister Josephine Rateau. Beloved mother of Susan Paysse Cannizaro, Jeanne Marie Paysse and Oscar Alfred Paysse III. Grandmother of Andy, Lee and Garrett Cannizaro and Ashley Paysse. Great-grandmother of Gabrielle Reins Cannizaro.
She graduated from Loyola University in Pharmacy at the age of 19 and was later bestowed a Doctorate of Pharmacology. She was a pharmacist at Charity Hospital and later owned and operated Paysse’s Apothecary. She was an adventurer and traveled extensively. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, writing and photography. She was a lover of the outdoors and animals.
The family would like to thank Live Oak Assisted Village and Lakeshore Hospice for the attentiveness and care given to our mother.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in Metairie Cemetery.
