Jason Cardwell's Obituary
Jason Cardwell passed away peacefully on March 7, 2023, at the age of 45. Jason was born in Metairie, Louisiana on September 10, 1977.
Jason is survived by his mother Nancy Cardwell, his father David (Anne) Cardwell, his sister Elizabeth (Andrew) Fitzpatrick, his niece Arianna Fitzpatrick, his nephew Reilly Fitzpatrick, his sister Marianne Cardwell, and his sister Catherine Cardwell.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Leota Cardwell, Robert and Muriel Harrison, and his Uncle Holmes Harrison.
A native and proud resident of New Orleans, Louisiana for over 28 years, Jason attended St. Michael Special School from 1989-1998. After graduating, Jason thrived in his community. He was a grocery bagger at local grocery stores for many years. He participated in the Special Olympics for 15 years where he received many medals in swimming, bowling, basketball, and track. He earned a brown belt in karate. He also participated in local plays and talent shows.
Jason was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed writing stories of The Adventures of Jedi Master Jason; listening to rock of the 80s including Bruce Springsteen, Phil Collins, and the entire Rocky IV soundtrack; directing, producing, and starring in Cousin Pictures and building amazing Lego creations. He was an avid and dedicated son, brother, uncle, nephew, and godfather. His true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends.
Jason was unique and irreplaceable. He will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew him. His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
