Janis Cooper Johnson's Obituary
Janis Cooper Johnson passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023. She was born in Bogalusa, LA on May 3, 1952.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Oliver Johnson; her children, William E. Johnson II (Kimberly) and George Frederick Johnson (Katherine); her grandchildren, River Johnson, Ryker Johnson, Redding Johnson and William Michael Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings, Iris Cooper and Maria Frederick and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Yvonne Fussell Frederick and Homer Lavelle Cooper; her grandparents, Archie and Thelma Fussell.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was a graduate of Covington High School class of 1970. She was the secretary at Southeast Louisiana Hospital from 1970 until 1972. Secretary for Vocational Rehabilitation in Hammond. Janis was secretary and manger of Cedar Bluff Ranch in Shreveport, LA from 1975 until 1978; secretary and bookkeeper of Jolly Chef Foods from 1978 until 1979; She has been residing at Woodstock Plantation and Hunting Club for the last 44 years. She served as secretary, bookkeeper, housekeeper and cook and was known for her homemade biscuits. She will always be remembered as a gracious host and loving and caring person.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 12:00 noon with a wake on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and a visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Waldheim Methodist Cemetery.
